Fall Session

  • One division: October 13, 20, November 3, 10, 17, 24, December 8, 15

 

  • Teams play a total of 8 weeks every Friday, exept when the league does not run October 27 and December 1.
  • Each team consists of 2 women.
  • The match is played as 8 set pro-set, one hour maximum per match.
  • Each team will be playing one, one-hour match during one night.
  • The cost is $160 per season per team.

The objective of the league is to promote ladies competitive tennis and social exchange between players of member clubs of the NCTA.

  1. Eligibility - League competition is open to a doubles team on a first-come-first-served basis.
  2. Rules and Regulations - The competition will be governed by the rules and regulations of tennis as described in the Tennis Canada publication "The Tennis Canada Code of Conduct" and applies to all players.
  3. Balls - Each of the 2 opposing teams shall provide 1 new can of regular size yellow tennis balls (Dunlop, Wilson, Slazenger or Penn) for each match.  A coin is tossed to see which balls are to be used.
  4. Match Format - Matches are played as a 8 set pro sets.  A tiebreaker is played if the teams are tied at 8-8. Regular tiebreaker (first player to 7 points leading by 2) will be used.
  5. Subsitutions - Substitutions are allowed as needed.
  6. Defaults - Captains are expected to organize their team so that defaults are avoided. If an emergency arises, the other captain is to be notified at once. List of substitute players can be used to find a replacement.
  7. Rainouts - This league is played in a bubble so weather is not expected to cause court outages.
  8. Scoring - There is one point awarded for the winner of each match and for each set won. If any match is tied at the end of the allotted time, one point is awarded to each team.
  9. Records - The captains are responsible for reporting the results online within two (2) days.
