NCTA Junior Development Fund (JDF) cheques were presented at RSC to two regional competitors: B12 Ely Marks and G14 Bronwyn Duggan who qualified for both Indoor and Outdoor Fischer Canadian Junior Nationals in 2023. Other recipients of the JDF funding were: B12 Aubrey Sui, B14 Joshua Adamson, B16 William Adamson and G16 Ashvini Gopalan. Congratulations to all the competitors on that achievement, great job, keep it up and good luck in 2024! Also, kudos to all the coaches who contributed to the development of these players and everything they do on court and off court to grow tennis in Ottawa.
JDF fund is supported by the NCTA and has started over fifteen years ago, with Pro Am at Rideau in support of the Roman (now Bloomex) Cup, which has grown from smaller provincial circuit event into a 4-star National Selection with over 320 competitors. Annual Pro Am at Rideau garnered support of the entire tennis community, pros, tennis players, club members businesses and club volunteers. We are fortunate that NCTA has become a steward of that fund since and continues to support our HP regional players who qualify for nationals and is working on making it sustainable and expand it’s impact further
